Pre-feasibility

The aim of the pre-feasibility phase is to identify sites that are suitable for a wind farm. The process essentially involves plenty of desktop investigation, and a site visit for further information gathering. Eventually, you'll assess and rank them to help you choose a preferred site. The site you finally choose may involve some compromises but it should rank well for wind resource, proximity to grid, and landowner attitude.

There are also good resources on the National Wind Farm Commissioner website and the  Clean Energy Council's Best Practice Guidelines For Implementation of Wind Energy Projects in Australia.
